Tiger DASH is the sister charity of Tiger Martial Arts. DASH stands for Domestically Abused Single-parent Households and those are the families we support.
We provide extracurricular activity funding (swimming lessons, music tuition, residential trips and more) for children from single-parent, low-income families who have been affected by domestic abuse.
Every child deserves the chance to experience the activities that build confidence, friendships and lasting memories. Tiger DASH exists to make sure family circumstances never stand in the way of a child’s potential.
Growing up in a low-income, single-parent household, I experienced first-hand the difference a stable role model can make. From the age of 8, my martial arts instructor was one of the most significant figures in my life.
What I now understand is that having that positive influence helped me become the person I am today, and that providing these role models to children is key to helping them become the person they want to be, and to help break the cycle of domestic abuse. Research shows that 52% of adults who experienced domestic abuse before the age of 16 also experienced abuse later in life. We want to change that.
Running Pains follows Nick’s journey through ultra-endurance running and the personal story behind Tiger DASH. Directed by Dan Ward.
Every donation helps fund extracurricular activities for children who need them most. Be a hero. Help a child thrive.
